Lauren McNanna, AthleteThe Newark Sports Hall of Fame committee would like to congratulate Lauren McNanna, their 2018 Sports Hall of Fame inductee. Lauren is currently fourth on the Newark High School all time girls basketball scoring list with 1,257 points.
Lauren was a key member of the 2008 IHSA Class 1A second place team. She hit one of the biggest shots in Newark High School history as time expired to win the sectional championship game 44-43. In 2010, Lauren was the Ottawa Times area scoring leader, fourth team all-state, and a three-point showdown qualifier.
She played four years of varsity basketball at Beloit College where she ranks 8th all-time in scoring with 1,132 points and first in free throws made with 393.
